Gdańsk mayor Paweł Adamowicz of the Civil Platform (or PO) opposition party died after being stabbed in the heart by a deranged assailant at a charity concert on Sunday, who deceived security in order to get onstage and then give a crazed rant after the attack attempting to justify his crime […]
It’s a messy, though typical picture. US President Donald Trump wants to pull out forces in Syria. When announced in December, jaws drooped and sharp intakes of breath were registered through the Washington establishment. Members of the military industrial complex were none too pleased. The President had seemingly made his […]
What remains to be seen, however, is how it will be enforced in the realm of social media, especially on US-based platforms that are accessible in Russia. Whatever ends up happening, though, it’s clear that Russia is pioneering the way for all other states to follow in fighting fake news.
The hugely successful visit of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Zayed to Pakistan a few days ago represents one of Prime Minister Khan’s greatest foreign policy accomplishments yet because it proved that his country’s “balancing” act between regional powers is capable of turning latent rivals into trusted partners. The partisans of the Cebrowski doctrine are advancing their pawns. If they cease creating wars in the Greater Middle East, they’ll inflame the Caribbean Basin. The Pentagon is planning to assassinate an elected head of state, ruin his country, and undermine the unity of Latin-America.
By having its comparatively cheaper but highly effective arms compete with the US’ much more expensive and sometimes less effective ones, Russia is able to reduce the chances that America’s plans will succeed while simultaneously positioning itself as a neutral mediator for facilitating talks between rival parties.
