The Pentagon is still pursuing the implementation of the Rumsfeld-Cebrowski plan. This time the aim is to destroy the States of the «Caribbean Basin». This is nothing like the overthrow of pro-Soviet regimes, as in the 1970’s, but the destruction of all regional State structures, without consideration for friends or political enemies.
The partisans of the Cebrowski doctrine are advancing their pawns. If they cease creating wars in the Greater Middle East, they’ll inflame the Caribbean Basin. The Pentagon is planning to assassinate an elected head of state, ruin his country, and undermine the unity of Latin-America.
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was so incensed by what happened that he took to Twitter to hypocritically attack Russia for “sending bombers halfway around the world”, totally forgetting to mention that his country has much more than two nuclear-capable bombers on the other side of the planet.
These are extraordinary times in Russian-American relations. Moscow is grappling with the famous Kissinger question – “Who do I call if I want to speak to Europe?” The point is, there are multiple power centres in the Washington Beltway.
The ideal outcome is that Russia and China’s financial advice to Venezuela will contribute to stabilizing its economy and therefore creating the conditions for its many emigrants to return home from the regional countries that they fled to at the height of the Hybrid War crisis.
The New York Times’ report could backfire against its planners by reinforcing Trump and Maduro’s domestic positions, with the former using it as proof that there are indeed high-level traitors trying to sabotage a very sensitive part of his administration’s foreign policy in Latin America while the latter’s government has already said that the US is trying to carry out a regime change against it.
Colombia’s comparatively larger population and economy, as well as its geostrategic bi-oceanic position, make it the US’ ideal “Lead From Behind” partner, and its growing proxy influence over Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela, that the US wants to use for reorganizing South America.
According to the Western Press, the « fall » of the « cradle of the revolution » marks the end of all « hope of overthrowing Bachar el-Assad ». No doubt, but would it not be fairer to say that the Syrian Arab Republic, its army, its people and its President « liberated » the « cradle of foreign aggression »?
Instead of coming off as a brilliant “balancing” move that makes a variety of disparate countries stakeholders in its stability, Nicaragua’s military decree appears more and more like a clumsy attempt to hide its leadership’s capitulation to the US.
Even before the results of the vote were published, Washington announced the promulgation of a «Presidential decree forbidding certain supplementary operations concerning Venezuela». Faced with the reality of the result, there was silence. What possible pursuit could be undertaken to advance the plan for the destruction of states and societies in the region?
